The Teak is the
largest of the villas at 2,248 square feet. The
colonial style is brought out with large bay windows
that open up the rooms to light and air. Owners would
want to consider asphalt or timber shingles for the
roofs and bay windows because they are easily shaped
to fit the bay window roofs. This would also lend
itself to exposed rafters and close boarded ceilings.
The Teak features an open floor plan. There is no wall
separating the kitchen from the living room so that
the cook is included in social gatherings. The kitchen
counter can also be used as an eating counter. There
is a nook formed by the staircase which could be used
a desk to attend to household business. There is a
compact powder room under the stairs. The living room
opens up unto the wrap around patio. The double
carport is oversized at 23' 4" wide. The guest entry
is via the patio and owners would want to consider
what type of walkwayt to be used for a creative
entrance. A trellis with grape vines would be unique.
The Master Suite is
enormous. There is space in the Master Bedroom to
create a seating/TV area and accommodate a king sized
bed. The Master Bathroom has both a tub (or whirlpool
spa) and a shower and the WC is separately enclosed. A
large walk-in closet provides plenty of storage space.
The Family/TV room is on the landing. Owners may want
to consider enclosing the family room as a fourth
bedroom and also narrowing the with of the corridor to
allow more space in the bedrooms. The upper floor also
contains the laundry. Since all the laundry is
generated out of the bedrooms it is only logical that
the laundry should be close to the source. No more
carrying laundry up and down stairs. The second bath
has a separately enclosed WC so that it can have more
than one user at a time. There can be built-in clothes
closets in the two comfortably sized extra bedrooms.
