The CEDAR has a
distinctive Mediterranean style with a flat crenulated
roof. A fabulous enhancement would be to take the
staircase through to the roof which could then be used
as a massive patio and entertainment area. This design
lends itself to extensive use of dark distressed
timber in the doors, windows, patio roof beams and
ceiling. Ornate wrought iron embellishments on the
window awnings and possibly also on the patio columns
will all add to the "look". Clay tiles for the patio
roof and window awnings are a must. Owners would want
to consider rough textured plastering on the exterior
walls or stone facing. The stone would add to the cost
but is maintenance free and very attractive.
A huge Master Suite
with a 14' walk-in closet. In the Master Bathroom the
WC is separately enclosed. Wide picture windows give
the Master Bedroom an open airy feeling. All the
bedrooms open on to the Family/TV room at the head of
the staircase. The second bathroom is nestled between
the two additional bedrooms that have private access
to it.
A wrap around patio
surrounds the large living and dining room. Folding
doors open up the whole area into an expansive
entertainment centre.
The
kitchen is compact yet spacious with a laundry area
and additional storage over the washer and dryer.
There is additional storage space under the stairs for
garden tools and extra patio furnishings. A double
carport and powder room round off the ground floor
accommodation. Owners would want to consider using
decorative wrought iron folding doors from the living
room to the patio. The doors are protected from the
weather by the patio roof so that incoming rain would
not be a problem. Guest entry is via the patio and
could be accessed by a rustic stone pathway with
extensive landscaping.
